MEET KATIE & KRISSY
We are two sisters who live for long chats over a delicious cortado and an even better piece of cake.
One of us is an accomplished pastry chef. The other is a marketing pro. Both of us are kinda bossy.
Broken Tart is a dream eight years in the making - and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to life (along with our amazing team!) right here in Oak Park.
P.S. We have four little kids between the two of us, so if you happen to have a 6-year-old help you with your order, don’t worry. Chances are they’re supposed to be there. 🤷
Our Vision
Broken Tart is our ode to the broken-in-yet-always-charming delis of Europe. It’s our tribute to the old school Chicago bakeries we frequented as kids. And it’s our love letter to the simple magic that exists in family kitchens.
We adore these places for the sense of community and belonging they create - and for their ability to change the course of your day with a single bite.
